Crane Operator Causes Fatal Accident While Removing Vehicle From Truck

On September 13, a fatal accident occurred in the Armavir region. Around 8:30 AM, a 39-year-old crane operator, Vardan Karapetyan, struck 65-year-old Grigor Hovhannisyan from the Ararat region while operating his crane on the road section leading from Ejmiatsin to Artimet village at the 1st kilometer, according to shamshyan.com.

The crane operator did not flee the scene and called for an ambulance. Doctors from the ‘Vagharshapat’ medical center arrived promptly and transported the injured man to the hospital; however, he later succumbed to his injuries.

A criminal case has been launched under the second part of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia concerning the incident. According to sources, the accident occurred when the crane operator attempted to remove a loaded vehicle from the parked truck in the specified area.
