Video: Supermarket Owner and His Son Assault Security Chief, Son Detained

On September 2, at 14:45, a report was received by the Nor Nork police station that the owner of a supermarket on Gayi Avenue and his son had assaulted the head of the supermarket's security service. Shortly after the incident, footage of the altercation began circulating on social media.

In relation to the incident, a criminal case was initiated on charges of hooliganism. Detectives of the Nor Nork division first identified the owner’s son, who was taken to the station along with his vehicle and subsequently arrested. Efforts continued to locate his father.

The following day, the 48-year-old man was found at one of Yerevan's hotel complexes and was brought to the Nor Nork police station. He was also arrested. The 48-year-old, merely being the property owner, had assumed the right to intervene in the operations of the supermarket's security service, which was considered as interference with the duties of the security chief. The investigation concluded with findings of hooliganism.

The police will continue to trace any violations of public order and to reveal any instances of blatant disrespect towards society by bringing those responsible to criminal accountability.
