Pages About Atatürk Torn from Books in Cypriot Schools

A new scandal is brewing around Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of the Republic of Turkey. This time, the incident occurred in Cyprus. The Cypriot Ministry of Education has issued a special circular demanding that English teachers tear out pages about Atatürk from the English textbooks distributed to schools, reports Ermenihaber.

The information has been shared on social media by teachers, who also posted a photo of the corresponding directive and a section from the book titled "Turkey's Greatest Hero" regarding Atatürk.

Costas Hahisavas, head of the union of teachers from Greek secondary schools, has stated that he will soon meet with officials from the Ministry of Education to demand an explanation for the reasons behind such a decision.
