«Well, if you are so confident, whether you want it or not, you must be elected»: Pashinyan admonishes the governor candidate

During today’s session of the Government of Armenia, the issue of appointing a new governor for Gegharkunik was discussed. The candidate was Karen Sargsyan, the former head of the Water Committee. Pashinyan passed the word to him.

“Thank you for your trust, it's a great honor for me to be the governor in my native region,” Sargsyan said.

This did not sit well with Pashinyan, who humorously admonished him. “Our candidates are making methodological errors. You are already thanking us before being elected, Mr. Sargsyan. Well, if you are so confident, whether you want it or not, you must be elected,” he said.

The members of the government voted in favor of Sargsyan’s candidacy. It is worth noting that the previous governor of Gegharkunik was Gnel Sanosyan, who now holds the position of Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
