Taliban Prohibits Journalists from Covering Protests in Afghanistan

The Taliban movement has banned media outlets from covering protests and has urged journalists to avoid such events. According to Armenpress, citing RIA Novosti, this was announced by Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

"These are not protests; these are riots. We will not allow this, and the media will not cover such events," Mujahid stated at a press conference. He called on media outlets to refrain from filming the protests and not to publish videos related to them. "These protests are illegal, and the media should not film them... we urge media to stay away from the locations of these protests," said the Taliban representative.

On Tuesday, Afghans carried out a protest in Kabul following the visit of Pakistan's intelligence chief Faiz Hamid to Afghanistan at the invitation of the Taliban movement. The protest began in the north of Kabul and continued near the Pakistani embassy.
