A Mass in Memory of Belmondo to Be Held in Paris
The memorial ceremony for the renowned French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo will take place on September 10 at the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church in Paris, according to Armenpress, citing the actor's lawyer, Michel Godest.
It is noted that the ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM (1:00 PM Yerevan time). On September 9, a national farewell ceremony is planned at the Disabled Persons' House. Media reports indicate that the details of the ceremony are currently being coordinated with Belmondo's family by the Élysée Palace.
Belmondo passed away on September 6 at the age of 89. The actor starred in dozens of films, including "The Professional," "Breathless," "The Magnificent," and others. He was born on April 9, 1933, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, to sculptor Paul Belmondo and painter Sarah Renaud-Richard. He was accepted into the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts.
He acted in films directed by Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut, Alain Renais, Gérard Oury, and Georges Lautner. He received two BAFTA nominations for Best Foreign Actor. In 1989, he won a César Award for his role in the film "The Lover of Fate." Belmondo was awarded the honorary "Golden Palm" at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011 and the "Golden Lion" for his contributions to world cinema in 2016.
