Who Can Replace Muradov?

The commander of the Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh, Rustam Muradov, completed his mission yesterday. It was reported back in May that he could be replaced by Alexey Avdeyev, the deputy commander of the Southern Military District, on a rotational basis. However, due to the tense situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Muradov continued his service during this period.

Avdeyev was born in Tashkent in 1967. He is a general of the motorized rifle troops. Media reports indicate that Avdeyev is of Uzbek ethnicity.
