Lawyer Leaves the Courtroom, Considering Judge to Be Unobjective; The Hearing in Kocharian and Gevorgyan’s Case Postponed for 3 Weeks

The court hearing in the case of Armenia's second president Robert Kocharian and former Deputy Prime Minister, National Assembly member Armen Gevorgyan has been postponed for three weeks, as reported by News.am.

As previously stated, Gevorgyan's lawyer Erik Aleksanyan left the courtroom, considering that Judge Anna Danibekyan was unobjective towards him. Due to the lawyer's absence, the hearing has been postponed today. On September 14, the judge will be attending training courses, while September 21 is a non-working day.

“Whom Armen Gevorgyan will invite is his business. You want to ensure Erik Aleksanyan's or someone else's presence. But for the next hearing, you must ensure the presence of a lawyer,” noted Anna Danibekyan, adding that she is providing a timeframe that is sufficient not only to invite a lawyer but also to familiarize with the materials of the case.
