Judge Anna Danibekyan Cannot Hide Her Hostility Towards Me, Says Armen Gevorgyan's Defender
Judge Anna Danibekyan is unable to control her emotions. This statement was made today by the former Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Armen Gevorgyan's defender, Erik Aleksanyan, after leaving the courtroom related to Gevorgyan and ex-President Robert Kocharian's case.
During today's court session concerning the case of the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, and former deputy prime minister Armen Gevorgyan, Erik Aleksanyan announced that he would no longer represent Gevorgyan in court. This decision came after a brief argument with Judge Anna Danibekyan.
"She cannot hide her hostility towards me, shuts off the microphone, and doesn’t listen. She has an obvious negative attitude towards my client, Armen Gevorgyan. If she believes it's acceptable to infringe upon my client’s rights and for me to remain silent, that is impossible," said Aleksanyan.
According to him, a personal conflict has developed between him and the judge, which is why Aleksanyan finds it untenable to defend Gevorgyan's interests in this case.
"However, I will continue to defend Gevorgyan and his family's interests in other proceedings," he added. Aleksanyan also noted that there are pressures and directives influencing Judge Anna Danibekyan.
