The National Assembly Session Promises to Be Heated: Pashinyan Will Attend Parliament

The second session of the eighth convocation of the National Assembly will commence on September 13. According to ‘Joghvor’ newspaper, prior to that, starting Monday, the permanent committees of the National Assembly should convene meetings to discuss the draft laws that will be included on the agenda of the plenary sessions.

Among these is the annual report of the Central Electoral Commission, which was scheduled to be discussed by the previous parliament but never reached completion. The selection of a judge for the Court of Cassation will also be discussed, along with numerous issues presented by the government.

During this time, the deputies have not proposed any legislative initiatives, and there won't be a large number of draft laws on the agenda. Unless extraordinary circumstances arise, the session is expected to be brief. However, it may very well become heated on Wednesday, when members of the government, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, are expected to visit the parliament.
