Deputy Head of North Macedonia Mission at OSCE Arrested in 'North-South' Case

Serbian law enforcement agencies have arrested Mile Milenkovski, the deputy head of the North Macedonia mission at the OSCE, based on international warrants initiated by Armenian authorities. This was reported by the Macedonian television channel Alsat-M.

The arrest took place on August 27, when Milenkovski attempted to cross the 'Prševo' border checkpoint into North Macedonia. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia only confirmed the news on September 3.

According to the television channel, Serbian authorities acted upon a request from the Armenian side. Furthermore, Milenkovski is a relative of Sasho Mijalkov, the former head of national intelligence in North Macedonia, who is currently serving a sentence for abuse of office.

Advisor to the Armenian Prosecutor General, Gor Abrahamyan, stated in a phone conversation with 'Hetq' that the North Macedonian citizen was arrested in connection with a criminal case related to the 'North-South Road Corridor.' The North Macedonian citizen had taken another North Macedonian citizen out of Armenia, who is also involved in the criminal case concerning the 'North-South Road Corridor.'

Gor Abrahamyan noted that Serbia has informed the Prosecutor General's Office about his arrest. "Currently, a package of documents is being prepared for his extradition to Armenia to be presented to the competent authorities of Serbia," the advisor added.
