New Government of Afghanistan: Who Will Lead?

The leader of the political wing of the Taliban extremist movement, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, will head the new government of Afghanistan. This is reported by Reuters, citing its source.

According to the source, the new government will also include Mullah Yakub (the first leader of the Taliban and son of Mullah Omar) and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, a representative of the extremists in Doha.

Two days ago, TOLOnews network, citing its sources, reported that the government would be led by Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada.

It is noteworthy that the Taliban had intensified their advance alongside the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan. The latter entered the capital Kabul on August 15, after which President Ashraf Ghani fled the country. The Taliban announced they would form a council consisting of 12 members to govern the country.
