New Details Emerge from the Tragic Car Accident in Yerevan: Identities of the Deceased and Injured Revealed

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has released new details regarding the tragic car accident that occurred in Yerevan on September 2. Senior investigator Manvel Muradyan from the division of road transport crimes confirmed the identities of those involved in the incident, which is being investigated under Article 242, Part 2 of the Armenian Criminal Code.

According to shamshyan.com, the driver of the Mercedes with license plate 35 TG 968 was 27-year-old Erik Avetisyan, registered in the village of Lernapat, Lori Province. The second vehicle, a Mercedes with license plate 34 FZ 900, was driven by 28-year-old Sergey Gasparyan, registered in Yerevan. Tragically, Erik Avetisyan died at the scene, while Sergey Gasparyan and his passenger, 34-year-old Narek Evoyan from Yerevan, were transported to the Erebuni Medical Center with injuries. Sergey Gasparyan was later transferred to the Armenia Medical Center.

Earlier reports from the scene by a photojournalist indicated that the accident occurred at approximately 12:40 AM on Tsitsernakaberd Highway, involving a head-on collision between the two Mercedes vehicles. Emergency responders from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived promptly, dispatching a firefighting and rescue team to the location. Rescuers used specialized equipment to extract the deceased from the vehicle.
