VIDEO: Fatal Hit-and-Run on Babajanyan Street

On August 27, 2021, at approximately 08:40, a driver of an Opel vehicle struck a 59-year-old resident of Yerevan on Babajanyan Street. Following the incident, the same car collided with another Opel vehicle and came to a stop. The 59-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated by the traffic crime investigation department of the Yerevan city investigative office under Article 242, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code. The man who was hit has been identified as the victim.

Investigative measures at the scene and examinations of the vehicles have been carried out, and a forensic examination of the body has been scheduled. It has been established that the driver responsible for the hit-and-run was sober at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts being made to clarify all circumstances of the accident and to ensure an objective and comprehensive inquiry.
