Russian Peacekeepers Accompany Six Columns of Azerbaijani Armed Forces
The Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to fulfill its missions in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the ceasefire regime at 27 observation posts. The peacekeepers have accompanied six columns of the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The demining teams of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continue to clear the area and objects of landmines," the statement said.
"During the day, 3 hectares of territory and 2 kilometers of road in the Martuni region have been cleared of unexploded munitions and explosive devices. Since November 23, 2020, a total of 2,245.5 hectares of land, 674.3 kilometers of roads, and 1,922 buildings have been cleared of unexploded munitions. Additionally, 25,795 explosive objects have been discovered and neutralized," the statement added.
To prevent potential incidents in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping forces, continuous interaction is maintained with the general staffs of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
