Rock Falls in Tbilisi

On Thursday night, a portion of a rock fell in the north of Tbilisi. Residents of a nearby ten-story building were evacuated due to the threat of a second landslide, reports Sputnik Georgia.

“Last night, a part of a rock collapsed in the Saburtalo district of Tbilisi. Residents of the ten-story building located in the adjacent area were evacuated because of the threat of a second landslide. They had to spend the night in a hotel,” the agency reported via its Telegram channel.

According to the Tbilisi municipality, specialists will examine the rock on Lordkipanidze Street, after which reinforcement work will begin. The rockfall occurred due to construction work, which has now been completely halted.
