Electric Poles Toppled by Strong Winds in Sis Village; Residents Without Power for Two Days

In the village of Sis, Ararat province, several wooden electric poles dating back decades were toppled two days ago due to strong winds, resulting in downed power lines. As a consequence, residents have been deprived of electricity for the second consecutive day. This was reported by SHAMSHYAN.com.

“We have contacted the electrician, and he says he has informed the management of the electric network. They promised to come and resolve the issue. But now, the third day is about to end, and no official from the electricity network has bothered to come and solve our problem. Only on the second day, when a cow was electrocuted on the road, we forced the electrician to turn off the power supplying the lines, yet the toppled poles and fallen wires remain in the same condition,” residents stated.

Ararat Governor Razmik Teyvonyan acknowledged that he is aware of the situation, noting similar issues exist in several communities in the region. However, he emphasized that the “Electric Networks of Armenia” company is a private entity, and he has no power to influence them.
