Scandalous Incident in Parliament Becomes Pretext to Restrict Journalists' Access to Designated Area

Following a scandalous incident that took place today in the National Assembly, where opposition and ruling party members were seen pulling at each other, Speaker Alen Simonyan called a significant number of security staff into the session hall to restore order. Shortly after, he ordered the interruption of the live broadcast of the Assembly's session, which also led to restrictions on journalists' activities.

Journalists have been barred from entering the press room designated specifically for them. Employees of the State Protection Service have been instructed to prevent journalists from accessing this area.

During the aforementioned incident, security personnel also obstructed the work of journalists covering the session, attempting to prevent them from filming what was happening in the hall, even though it was visible on the live broadcast since Speaker Alen Simonyan had not yet ordered the broadcast to be turned off.

Now, journalists covering the parliament are in a state of uncertainty and do not know how to properly carry out their professional duties, especially after having previously expressed their dissatisfaction with the restrictions initiated by Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan regarding their work in the parliament.
