Russian Border Guards to Establish Posts in 6 More Villages in Tavush

Russian border guards will establish posts in the border villages of Aygepar, Paravakar, Aygehovit, Berkaberd, Koti, and Dovekh in the Tavush region, with one already set up in Voskepar. This was stated in an interview with Hayk Beginyan, the acting head of the Azatamut community.

According to him, Russian border guards have been in Azatamut for six days. Currently, there are two Russian border guards in the village, along with ten ethnic Armenian technical staff.

"The border guards are temporarily stationed in Azatamut until their main personnel arrives, about 50 people, who will begin setting up posts in the administrative area of Aygehovit. They have looked at two sites in Aygehovit, which they will approve, and that's where they will be stationed," said Hayk Beginyan.

When asked why Russian border guards are being stationed in Tavush, Beginyan responded: "According to the regional leadership, the prime minister also mentioned in his speech that they should be stationed throughout the territory of the republic. They stated that it is for security reasons, to prevent border violations."
