Facebook Blocks Ruben Melkonyan's Post About a Ruling Party MP

The Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University, Ruben Melkonyan, announced that Facebook had blocked a post he made the previous day. He shared this update on his Facebook page.

Melkonyan wrote, "Dear friends, Facebook has blocked my post from yesterday for reasons I do not understand. More precisely, I assume it was reported by those who falsely advocate for 'free speech' and 'diversity of opinion.' However, quoting Eastern wisdom again, I can say that the sun cannot be covered with mud, and truth cannot be silenced with falsehood.... You can find my yesterday's writing on numerous news sites, and I will add, as stated in a well-known satirical video, 'what I said yesterday is still in effect'...."

It is noteworthy that on August 10, Dean Ruben Melkonyan had written on his Facebook page that he allowed current ruling party MP Vahagn Aleksanyan to participate in the defense of his diploma and barely graduate from YSU. This post was removed from Melkonyan’s page a few hours later.
