After Insults from Former Azerbaijani Ambassador, Zhirinovsky Demands Criminal Case

The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, commented on the scandalous statements made by former Azerbaijani ambassador Isfandiyar Vagabzade during a "Solovyev Live" YouTube program. Vagabzade referred to Zhirinovsky and the Russian people as pigs.

Zhirinovsky stated that he would not let this go unpunished, as reported by Gazeta. "We will send a stern letter to the head of the Republic of Azerbaijan demanding a criminal case to be opened. This insult is monstrous. This is the Middle Ages," said the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party.

Program host Vladimir Solovyov noted that the Azerbaijani diplomat had "talked about the article" and added that he expects comments from Azerbaijani officials.

Earlier, Isfandiyar Vagabzade, former Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and professor, addressed Vladimir Zhirinovsky, stating that a dictatorship prevails in the republic, and that its territory was once gifted by the Russian Empire to the Iranian Shah. In his message, the diplomat used harsh expressions, calling Zhirinovsky and the Russian people "pigs."
