Azerbaijani Authorities Artificially Delay, Politicize the Return of Prisoners: Arman Tatoyan

The Armenian Human Rights Defender, Arman Tatoyan, is currently presenting a special report on the return of Armenian prisoners and the issues related to missing persons at a discussion organized by the Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University.

This was reported by the Human Rights Defender's Office. The discussion was organized by David L. Phillips, the director of the Peacebuilding and Rights Program at Columbia University's Institute for the Study of Human Rights. Among the participants is also Thomas M. McDonnell, the selected head of the International Division of Human Rights at the American Association of Law Schools and a law professor.

During the discussion, Arman Tatoyan emphasized that “Azerbaijani authorities are artificially delaying and politicizing the process of returning prisoners, grossly violating the rights of those individuals and their families, causing them suffering and creating tension within society, and conducting sham trials.”
