We Were Held Hostage for Two Days by the Parents of Fallen Soldiers: Andranik Kocharyan
“Mr. Kocharyan, we see what is happening in our country. Even after the signing of the capitulation agreement, our brave boys are getting killed and taken hostage, and numerous incidents are occurring at the borders. What do you think, how much authority and respect does your government have in negotiating with our strategic partner and international partners to resolve these issues? Secondly, it was said that our captives would have to wait another 1-2 months. How much longer must they wait? You are likely aware that many of them have been sentenced to 15-20 years in prison,” said Rhpisimé Stambulyan, a member of the “Armenia” faction, addressing Andranik Kocharyan.
“I don’t know how closely you’ve been following the processes, but there are members of parliament like Nazeli Baghdasaryan, myself, and two other colleagues who have been held hostage by the parents of our fallen soldiers in Artsakh,” Kocharyan responded, adding that they spent two days in captivity together discussing how to navigate this challenging path.
