23-Year-Old Driver Hits Pedestrian in Yerevan, Victim Dies in Hospital
On August 7, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 08:00, 23-year-old David Avetisyan, driving a VAZ 2121 vehicle with license plate 06 VP 066, struck 79-year-old Arsen Khachatryan in front of number 21, V. Papazyan Street.
According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene, called for an ambulance, and assisted in transporting the injured pedestrian to Armenia Medical Center.
Officers from the Yerevan Patrol Service promptly arrived at the scene. Information about the accident was communicated from the Yerevan brigade to the Traffic Accidents Investigation Division of the Patrol Service, where an investigative group led by division chief Grigor Avetisyan and senior investigator Hovhannes Sargsyan arrived.
As per G. Shamshyan's reports, the next day, on August 8, the hospital notified the Arabkir division of the police that the pedestrian had died in the hospital.
