World-renowned football star Lionel Messi was unable to hold back his tears during a press conference held before leaving the Spanish football club, FC Barcelona. During the farewell conference, the player stated: “I have been here since I was 13 years old; it’s my whole life. After 21 years, I am forced to leave with my family—my three little Catalan-Argentinian children and my wife. And I cannot promise that we will not return, because this is my home.”

Earlier, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta announced that the Argentine would be moving to the French club, Paris Saint-Germain. Laporta stated that he did everything possible to keep Messi on his team. Messi did not sign a new contract with the club due to a 50% salary cut.
