I Can Tell What the Former Ones Did: Andreasyan on Promised Vendettas
The newly appointed Minister of Justice Karen Andreasyan assured journalists that he can share what the previous officials have done in both legal and illegal realms, but he prefers not to discuss the past. Instead, he suggests focusing on the future. He is now eager to see specific legal actions aimed at punishing all criminals within the confines of the law.
Regarding the question about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s promise during the campaign that there would be 'vendettas,' Andreasyan noted that the public's demand is for criminals to be punished. 'A strict attitude towards criminals and all offenders is expected, along with a responsible and punitive legal response, this has been promised, and it is indeed the demand of the people. I will invest my abilities specifically in combating criminals and violations,' said Andreasyan.
Journalists asked the Minister of Justice to provide a legal assessment and comment on Pashinyan's practices of 'swinging the hammer' during the campaign. 'There can be allegories, symbols, and even exaggerations within political debates,' the Minister replied.
