Defense Minister Meets with Arman Tatoyan
On August 6, the Minister of Defense of Armenia received the Human Rights Defender, Arman Tatoyan. During the meeting, Tatoyan presented the outcomes of his office's work related to the Armed Forces, emphasizing the positive impact of collaboration on identifying and analyzing existing issues, as well as the importance of their solutions.
Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan highlighted the significance of the Human Rights Defender's office, particularly the active cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and relevant structures of the Armed Forces.
During the meeting, issues related to the 44-day war and the post-war border tensions that are directly linked to the protection of human rights were discussed. Minister Karapetyan emphasized that measures are currently being implemented in the Armed Forces aimed at strengthening discipline, increasing combat readiness, and enhancing the social security of military personnel.
The Human Rights Defender also informed that a study on the enhancement of the role of military personnel in society has been conducted by the office, and a corresponding report is being prepared.
