Why Is the State Revenue Committee Delaying Income Tax Returns to Citizens?

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the State Revenue Committee of Armenia has created problems for citizens. For a considerable time now, the SRC has been delaying income tax returns.

“Zhoghovurd” has been receiving complaints from citizens regarding this issue for several days. According to them, there are individuals who have submitted requests for income tax transfers 20 days ago, but more than two months have passed without any transfer occurring.

When citizens call the SRC seeking explanations, they are unable to get through, as their phone calls go unanswered. Previously, this process—from filing documents to receiving income tax refunds—used to take about five days.

“Zhoghovurd” attempted to get clarification from the SRC but only managed to receive an incomplete response from their hotline, which briefly communicated that the transfers would be processed on the 19th day. The reasons behind the SRC's shortcomings in this regard remain unclear.

Moreover, it is worth noting that this state body has not even bothered to inform citizens that the income tax transfers would be delayed this time around. As observed, the SRC currently lacks an official head, and its operations have become disorganized. It raises the question of why Rustam Badasyan was recalled from vacation.
