Zaruhi Batoyan to Assume Duties as MP in National Assembly

Member of the "Civil Contract" party and former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan will officially assume the duties of a member of the 8th convocation of the National Assembly on August 2. She announced this on her Facebook page.

"I am pleased that during the past 2.5 years, together with the Government, we have laid the groundwork for a number of systemic reforms in social support, protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as the improvement and expansion of services. There is much work to be done, and as a member of parliament, I will continue to support the implementation of these reforms and the provisions enshrined in the pre-election program of the 'Civil Contract' party. Generally, as a result of wars and pandemics, vulnerable groups worldwide become more vulnerable, and the ignored become even more overlooked. Therefore, in this difficult situation for Armenia, social issues must be kept at the forefront of our attention like never before. I will primarily focus my efforts on the protection of children, social support, the realization of the rights of persons with disabilities, and addressing issues that are of vital importance to our citizens. As always, I will be open to cooperation, suggestions, and observations. I serve the Republic of Armenia," Batoyan wrote.
