EU Will Not Recognize Government if Taliban Takes Power by Force in Afghanistan
If the radical movement Taliban takes power by force in Afghanistan, the European Union will not recognize such a new government, said EU Special Representative for the region Thomas Niklasson in an interview with Afghan "Ariana News," as reported by TASS.
The European diplomat emphasized that in such a scenario, the EU would cease its aid to Afghanistan, which could lead to the country’s isolation.
Niklasson expressed concern about the current situation, urging the parties to show flexibility to end the Afghan conflict.
"We strive to do everything in our power to remain politically engaged in providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan as much as necessary," stated the EU special representative.
