Party Leader Submits Application to Terminate Membership
Surens Sahakyan, the leader of the 'Citizen’s Decision' party, has announced:
“I want to inform my friends and the public that I have submitted an application to terminate my membership in the Citizen’s Decision party. I want the most curious to be assured that I have the warmest feelings towards the party; there were and still are people there who are spiritually close to me, identically aligned with shared ideas. However, times and the logic behind them are changing. In my opinion, if political teams needed to get an objective picture of support before the elections, now is the time for larger coalitions. This has been discussed extensively both before and after the elections, and this decision is not made in a moment of impulse.
I am confident that the party is neither a seal nor numbers on a state registry document. The party is the political thought that people and their associations carry. To the citizens who voted in favor of the Citizen’s Decision, I assure you that the ideas that the party represented will spread and become dominant. Those carrying those ideas will never allow a return to the old way of thinking again. Wherever such individuals are, they will contribute to the spread and realization of these ideas through their activities. However, it is possible that each may have their own path in this regard.
As for how my formal political journey will continue, I will provide further information. I ask for your understanding that at this moment, I am not ready to make any additional comments about either the Citizen’s Decision or the future. At this moment, I simply wish to express my gratitude to the people who have supported the Citizen’s Decision party, those who have participated in its activities, those who consider it dear, and those who have voted. I am forever indebted to you, people. Thank you.”
