The ECHR Issues Ruling in 'Badalyan v. Azerbaijan': Azerbaijan Ordered to Pay €30,000
Today, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) announced its latest ruling against Azerbaijan, determining that between 2009 and 2011, Azerbaijan tortured and unlawfully deprived A. Badalyan of his liberty after he accidentally found himself within Azerbaijani territory. This was reported on Facebook by Liparit Drmeyan, the head of the Armenian representative office at the ECHR.
"The European Court has ordered Azerbaijan to pay A. Badalyan €30,000 as compensation for non-pecuniary damage. It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan continues to violate the rights of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians under its control," Drmeyan highlighted.
