Preparing for Elections: Date of Local Self-Government Elections Announced

The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia decided in an extraordinary session today to change the voting dates for the upcoming Local Self-Government elections this year.

"On September 23, 2020, the CEC set the dates for the 2021 local self-government elections. Of course, at that time, the CEC could not foresee that early parliamentary elections would take place on June 20, 2021, which have changed several circumstances. Therefore, the CEC is proposed to review the voting dates for the local self-government elections set for September 26 and October 17," said CEC Secretary Armen Smbatyan during the session.
