Monthly Support of 300,000 AMD Provided to Families of Missing Soldiers for Up to 9 Months, According to Ministry of Defense
The Armenian government approved the regulation on December 10, 2020, via decision No. 2001-L for the "Social support for families of soldiers missing as a result of military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 27, 2020." Furthermore, via decision No. 2180-L on December 24, 2020, the process for providing monthly financial assistance to families of soldiers missing as a result of military actions was established.
The Ministry of Defense informs that according to these decisions, until the status of missing soldiers is clarified, each family member of a missing soldier is granted monthly support of 300,000 AMD, but for no more than nine months starting from the month of the regulation's establishment.
The decision set forth by the Armenian government on December 10, 2020, stipulates that the monthly financial payments are implemented through the "Fund for Compensation of Damages Caused to the Lives and Health of Servicemen." In the event of identification and burial of the missing soldier's body, the provision of the monthly 300,000 AMD payment will cease after the family members are recognized as beneficiaries of the fund, and the disbursed amounts will be deducted from the one-time payment pending from the fund.
