Investigation into Bribery by Candidate and Two Others Concluded

The investigation conducted by the Special Investigative Service has revealed that residents H. E., M. U., and G. A. from the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan conspired to offer and promise bribes of 20,000 AMD to voters of the same district in exchange for supporting the "Honorary Have" party alliance during the snap National Assembly elections.

H. E., who is included in the candidate list of the mentioned alliance, made preliminary agreements with G. A. and M. U. to bribe voters in favor of their party. Specifically, in discussions with M. U., H. E. proposed gathering as many voters as possible to vote for the "Honorary Have" alliance in exchange for money, indicating that the details would be clarified by G. A. during their meeting.

On June 14, 2021, during a meeting with M. U., G. A. informed that a bribe of 20,000 AMD was being offered for each vote in favor of the alliance. M. U. accepted the proposal from H. E. and G. A. and later informed his acquaintances in the Kanaker-Zeytun district about it, promising them the same bribe for voting for the "Honorary Have" alliance.

Charges have been brought against G. A. and M. U. under Articles 154.2, Paragraph 4, Points 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia for offering, promising, or giving bribes in agreement with two or more persons. A measure of restraint has been imposed on them, requiring them to sign a non-departure agreement. During the investigation, M. U. fully accepted the charges against him.

H. E., the candidate from the "Honorary Have" alliance, has also been involved as a defendant under the same legal provisions. An arrest warrant has been issued against him, and he is currently on the wanted list. The investigation concerning G. A. and M. U. has been completed, and the case has been sent to the prosecutor with a request for confirmation and submission to the court.
