Government Deliberately Exaggerates War Danger to Scare Public and Justify Concessions, Abrahamyan
In light of the recent border developments, I have several concerns. First, Nikol Pashinyan wants to employ the thesis that was used after November 9, namely, if we do not concede these territories, then war could break out. The issue now extends beyond the concession of those territories to potentially making political concessions in the process. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the 'Henarq' analytical center, during an interview with 'Pastinfo'.
According to him, the current Armenian authorities have already washed their hands of the Artsakh issue politically, and now it may also be legally formalized. In other words, the authorities are first exaggerating the danger of war so that in a second step, they can proceed with those concessions. 'There is always justification, if we hadn’t done this at that moment, there would have been a war, and unfortunately, a large part of society accepts it this way. He conceals his incompetent governance by frightening the public with the resumption of war,' noted the expert.
