Georgian Citizens Receive Armenian Passports Without Registration in the Ministry of Defense's Conscription and Mobilization Service
According to Aravot.am, a number of Georgian citizens have received Armenian citizenship passports from the Passport and Visa Department of the Armenian police, with some not being registered with the Ministry of Defense's Conscription and Mobilization Service.
On July 18 of this year, the Armenian police's Passport and Visa Department reported that data regarding 528 Georgian citizens who obtained Armenian citizenship through a presidential decree between 2020 and 2021 had been sent to the Ministry of Defense's Conscription and Mobilization Service to verify their military registration status.
According to a response from the Ministry of Defense's Conscription and Mobilization Service, it turns out that 76 individuals on the list are not registered with the service but have received Armenian citizenship passports by submitting an application for an Armenian passport along with a personal registration card, which contains the relevant note regarding military registration.
Specifically, a response was received on July 21 from the Ministry of Defense's Conscription and Mobilization Service regarding an inquiry that included Karen Kh. (registered in Akhalkalaki, Georgia), confirming that he is not listed in the Ministry of Defense's records.
Currently, materials are being prepared in relation to this matter.
