Four Earthquakes Recorded in One Week: Two in Armenia, Two in the Region

From July 15 to 21, the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations recorded two earthquakes of magnitude 2-3 and higher in the territories of Armenia and Artsakh. This information was provided by the seismic protection territorial service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

• On July 15, in the Armenia-Georgia border area, 10 km northeast of the village of Bavra, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2-3 was recorded.

• On July 17, also in the Armenia-Georgia border area, 8 km northeast of the village of Bavra, another earthquake with a magnitude of 2-3 occurred.

In the region, two earthquakes with a magnitude of 3 and above were recorded:

• On July 15, in the Iran-Turkey border area, 37 km northeast of the city of Salmas, an earthquake measuring 3 on the Richter scale was recorded.

• On July 16, in the Georgia-Armenia border area, 11 km northeast of the village of Bavra, another earthquake with a magnitude of 3 was observed.

Additionally, outside the region, two earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.0 and higher were recorded. On July 17 and 21, seismic events with magnitudes of 6.1 and 6.8 occurred, respectively, 135 km southeast and 64 km south of Punta de Burika, Panama. No casualties or damage have been reported as a result of the earthquakes.
