Azerbaijan Plans to Construct Up to 700 km of Military Roads Along Armenia Border, Aliyev Says
Azerbaijan is actively working on the construction of military roads in the Kelbajar (Karvachar) and Lachin (Berdzor) regions. This was announced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as reported by minval.az.
“Construction of military roads is taking place in the Kelbajar and Lachin regions. The total length of these roads will be up to 700 km. There were no such roads before, including towards the border,” stated Aliyev.
According to him, Azerbaijan has much to accomplish (at the border) before the onset of winter. “This is a large-scale project, which is not covered extensively in the media. This is understandable. However, from a strategic point of view and in terms of reinforcing our borders, these roads are very important,” added the Azerbaijani president.
