Authorities Seek to Assign Vardazaryan's Appeal to Familiar Judge by Hand
According to ArmDaily.am, the authorities wish to direct the appeal process regarding the case of Council of Justice President Ruben Vardazaryan.
Specifically, it has come to our attention that the prosecutor’s office intends to assign the appeal against the decision of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction to a 'familiar' judge.
The issue is that in courts, the assignment of cases and appeals is conducted via computer, eliminating human intervention. However, it has been revealed that the server at the Court of Appeal is confiscated due to another criminal case, which is why there is a plan to assign Vardazaryan's appeal 'by hand.'
We attempted to clarify the information received with the President of the Court of Appeal, Tigran Sahakyan, but he was in a court session.
It is worth reminding that the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction ordered the competent authority to eliminate the violations of rights and legal interests of Vardazaryan as a judge and President of the Council of Justice. The prosecutor’s office has announced that it will appeal to the Court of Appeal. Meanwhile, the Council of Justice has refused to address this issue, claiming that they need to wait for the completion of the appeal process.
