"Take your pen and paper and come, and I will tell you what you haven't done that you should have done". Tigran Abrahamyan to former Deputy Minister of Defense
Member of the "I Have Honor" alliance Tigran Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page: "On H1, former Deputy Minister of Defense Gagik Melkonyan, who is running for elections on the ruling Civil Contract party's list, speaks about the inadmissibility of the army's involvement in political processes. This is the same military official who was the Deputy Minister of Defense during the 2008 electoral processes and joined political processes at that time.
It was generally a rather absurd interview. Within five minutes, this individual begins by stating that Azerbaijan is attempting to resume the war through border clashes, only to later deny the likelihood of large-scale actions. He accuses Russia of not fulfilling the provisions of the November 9 trilateral document and of the CSTO's inaction, while asserting that Armenia is ready for war because of Russia's support.
Here speaks a person who throughout the last war was making statements in the style of "We are winning," declaring the destruction of hundreds of Azerbaijanis every day and issuing statements regarding the liberation of "Getashen" and "Shahumyan" in a context filled with misinformation.
He also wants to prove to the public that the designation of them as capitulators is incorrect because we have not lost the Republic of Armenia; they are not dictating to us what to do and how to do it. In other words, the loss of 75% of Artsakh is not significant for them; even the surrender of settlements not foreseen by the November 9 document was somehow justified.
Not to mention that in the area of Khoznavar-Sotk, Azerbaijan has facilitated an incursion of up to 3.5 km, occupying the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. For them, human losses hold zero value.
Another thing he says is, 'Well, let the opposition come and say how we should act, where to start.' So, take your pen and paper and come, and I will tell you what you haven't done that you should have done. Of course, Melkonyan's absurd comments do not end here. He justifies the arrests taking place in Syunik by claiming that Syunik attempted to become independent from Armenia, and they prevented that.
In short, I wish a pleasant time to those who will watch the interview, and we should be grateful to Gagik Melkonyan for such interviews, as they inadvertently reveal the true face of the government and its representatives."
