Iran and EAEU to Sign New Free Trade Agreement

The meeting to sign a free trade agreement between the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Islamic Republic of Iran has begun in Tehran.

According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, Minister for Trade Andrey Slepnev indicated that the meeting has resulted in agreements on discussing new issues of cooperation, including the expansion of trade circulation, support for industrial cooperation, and increasing the transparency of public procurement.

The first full-format negotiations for signing the agreement with Iran are planned for September of this year. The new agreement will replace the interim agreement signed in October 2019.
