Goris Shooting Case Slowly ‘Written on Ice’
The newspaper ‘Iravunk’ reports: ‘What is the status of the shooting case in Goris? We remind you that this incident involves the son of the current governor of Syunik, Karen Poghosyan, and the son of the former governor, Tigran Khachatryan.
Is there a suspect currently detained in connection with the case? We tried to get an answer to this question from the press service of the Investigative Committee, which responded: ‘A criminal case has been initiated at the Goris investigative division of the Syunik regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee under the first part of Articles 34-104, the fourth part of Article 258, and the first part of Article 235 of the RA Criminal Code. During the preliminary investigation, an inspection of the crime scene was conducted, samples were taken, and an order was issued for operational investigative measures by the employees of the Goris division of the RA Police. Seizures, inspections, and interrogations of several individuals have been carried out.’
- Are there any suspects in the case?
- Up to this point, both victims involved in the case have refused to give testimony, and the preliminary investigation is ongoing.
According to information received by ‘Iravunk’, neither side wants the case to proceed legally, and according to rumors circulating in Goris, they are trying to smooth over the incident, as the continuation of this case is not advantageous for either side. But everyone knows what happened, and since there are still no indictments, it seems that law enforcement is not particularly eager to solve the case.’
