Charges Filed Against Robert Sukiasyan, Brother of Khachatur Sukiasyan
A candidate for the National Assembly from the Civil Contract party list, businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan's brother, Robert Sukiasyan, has been charged. This was reported to Tert.am by Vardan Tadevosyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Investigative Committee.
“Robert Sukiasyan has been charged under Article 258, Part 4 of the RA Criminal Code, for features of hooliganism involving the use of a weapon. A motion for his detention has been submitted to the court,” the spokesperson specified.
It is noteworthy that on July 18, gunshots were heard on Amiryan Street in Yerevan, after which a U.S. citizen born in 1979 sought medical assistance at the Armenia Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the lower extremities.
Khachatur Sukiasyan commented on the incident, stating: “The unpleasant and unacceptable incident that occurred yesterday in the center of Yerevan is unacceptable to me. Such behavior in resolving conflicts is condemnable. Representatives of the law enforcement system of the Republic of Armenia will clarify what actually happened after conducting an objective and comprehensive investigation. I declare that regardless of who a person is, everyone is equal before the law in the Republic of Armenia, regardless of social and political status.”
