We reiterate our call for restraint, withdrawal of forces, and constructive dialogue on border issues: EU Special Representative on border tensions
The European Union’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, expressed concern on Twitter regarding the events unfolding at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and stated that the EU is prepared to lend a helping hand.
For several days now, gunfire has been reported in the vicinity of Yeraskh. In this segment of the border between Armenia and Nakhchivan, the adversary has periodically violated the ceasefire regime. On the evening of July 19, Azerbaijani armed forces also employed mortars.
“We reiterate our call for restraint, withdrawal of forces, and constructive dialogue on border issues. The EU is ready to assist the parties,” Klaar noted.
