They Want to Advance, but It Will Not Succeed; The Community is Ready to Face the Enemy, Says Khachik Community Leader
The Khachik community is prepared to confront any enemy ambitions if necessary. In an interview with "Factinfo," the administrative head of this community bordering Nakhichevan, Hovik Smbatyan, addressed the recent advancements by the Azerbaijani side into Armenian territory and the gunfire heard in recent days, stating that there is only one assessment of this situation.
"The Azerbaijani side is receiving adequate responses. They want to advance, but it will not happen. I believe it is wrong; we must not allow any advancement," he emphasized.
The community does not harbor fears that incidents might reoccur in Khachik. When asked if they are prepared to confront Azerbaijani provocations, Smbatyan declared that they are ready at any moment. "We are always ready. Right now, we are resisting; we are harvesting our crop fields right at the border," he stated.
Agricultural work has begun in Khachik, where wheat and barley are being harvested close to the border. When asked if there have been any incidents, Smbatyan replied, "Everything is normal, thank God; there have been no such situations. Everything in our area is normal; we are currently harvesting grain right now. All the villagers are there; the work is proceeding fully, with enthusiasm, and I cannot say anything else," Smbatyan added.
It should be noted that a tense situation has developed in Yeraskh, which borders Nakhichevan, in recent days. The enemy has been sporadically firing towards Armenian positions, including with mortars.
