There Is No Authority, the Opposition Is Asleep, and the People Don't Matter

The war did not end on November 9; we did not achieve the long-desired peace even after 'giving away Artsakh.' This concerns all those who thought, 'We gave away Artsakh, that's it, there will be peace, the war is over.'

Daily events in Armenia prove the opposite. Last night and during the night, the intense shelling by Azerbaijan towards the Armenian positions located in the Yeraskh region is evidence that the thesis, 'Aliyev will shoot regardless of who is in power,' does not withstand scrutiny, writes Armdaily.am.

We present the analysis from the media outlet below:

If we had an authority that would strengthen and develop our country and our army, the enemy would not dare to fire from mortars 70 km away from the capital. If we had authority, the Prime Minister would not refer to his sources and announce that Azerbaijan wants to provoke new provocations and clashes. Citing such statements based on personal sources is not befitting even a journalist, let alone a Prime Minister...

And if they knew about this, what measures did they take... After all, were there even any efforts to strengthen the borders after the war, or is it still snowing in the mountains? What about those mountains where it snows year-round, do we even need them? If we had authority, that authority would have convened emergency meetings last night, formed working groups, and dispatched them to Yeraskh.

Just days ago, the ‘My Step’ party members were tearing their shirts to defend a proposal to receive 250,000 drams in 'pocket money' instead of 50,000 drams monthly to intensify engagement with voters. Please, get up and go to Yeraskh, otherwise, you were not elected just to receive bonuses and high salaries. Go and reassure your voters and non-voters, talk to them, see what has happened. Just days ago, you were proudly stating on Facebook that the authority received the most votes in the Ararat region.

By the way, the same applies to the opposition; while the enemy is firing in the direction of Yeraskh, the opposition is fast asleep, not even making traditional statements about the 'traitorous, Turkophile' authorities. Although it no longer makes sense to talk; it is time to act, to act...

This means that if the authorities have decided to hand over Armenia, and the opposition has decided to daily recount how bad the authorities are and how much of a traitor Nikol Pashinyan is, we already know all this; please, also tell us what we, ordinary citizens, should do—arm ourselves, engage in self-defense, emigrate... Please don’t reply here that we elected them and should enjoy it; I and thousands of citizens did not elect them. Those who did are deeply mistaken, but the opposition and opposition figures have no right to gloat over those citizens, saying, 'This is the future you chose, there is a future in Yeraskh.'

After all, the statehood of Armenia and the state is not to blame for thousands of people not awakening from this deep slumber due to the same authorities and opposition and not distinguishing the wet from the dry...

But all of us who are awake, living with the pain of this country and homeland, understand that what is happening is wrong, bad, irreversible, and sadly, we can do nothing... we feel abandoned and helpless, while solutions to the situation become a matter of urgent necessity. And it is precisely in insoluble situations and difficult conditions that heroes are born, and through their exceptional dedication and wisdom, countries are built, and armies are created from scratch.
