Head of Tegh Community Nerses Shadunts Discusses Current Situation in Border Areas

There has been some unrest during the night in certain areas, with sporadic gunfire reported by the enemy. This was stated by Nerses Shadunts, the head of the enlarged Tegh community in Syunik, in a conversation with ArmDaily.am.

"In the Aravusi and Khndzoresk regions, there were sporadic shots fired into the air, but there were no bursts directed towards us. As a result of our appropriate actions, the gunfire has lessened and then ceased. No damage has occurred," the community leader informed.

He noted that this was the first time since November 9 that the adversary fired with such intensity. "From around two in the night until five in the morning, there were varying numbers of bursts in different areas. Previously, there might have been one, two, or three shots, but nothing like this intensity," the mayor remarked.

As of now, the situation in the community is calm, and residents are going about their business. "They are harvesting wheat, organizing fodder accumulation; everything is normal. Life continues, and it will continue; whatever harm someone has caused to another will remain," Shadunts stated.

He believes that the Azerbaijanis' activity during the night is related to the enthusiasm surrounding the Muslim holiday of Kurban Bayram.
