Fake Vaccination Certificates Selling Group Disrupted in Paris
The police in the Île-de-France region of Paris have disrupted the activities of a criminal group selling fake documents. These documents allowed entry into public places during the coronavirus pandemic. This information was reported on Tuesday by France Info, based on information received from the prosecutor's office in Bobigny.
On Friday, employees of the anti-crime unit in the town of Bagneux detained a man with several thousand euros in cash and 40 certificates confirming vaccination against COVID-19. He refused to explain the presence of medical documents on him.
The information contained in the certificates allowed the police to establish contact with pharmacy workers in La Courneuve and a local vaccination center. It turned out that these certificates were being sold for 250 euros.
The police have launched an investigation on suspicion of creating false administrative documents, interfering with the operation of an automated data processing system, and establishing a criminal organization.
