Your Head Is On Your Shoulders for the Simple Reason That Gegham's 18-Year-Old Son Did Not Bow Before the Turk: Hovhannisyan

You ordered your colleagues on Saturday to hit Gegham Nazaryan's head to the ground. This was stated by Vahe Hovhannisyan, a member of the Alternative Projects Group, in his article.

“Let me remind you that your head is on your shoulders for the simple reason that Gegham's 18-year-old son did not bow before the Turk. An unfamiliar red beret. Not doubting your intellect, I would like to remind you that the 'sonderkommando' of Auschwitz was mainly made up of Jews. They, by deceiving, threatening, and using force, meaning by hitting the head to the ground, drove the Jews into gas chambers, then turned them on, and then tossed the bodies into the crematoria. So, among inhumane acts, what you did is not a big deal.

But do you know what the 'sonderkommando' of Auschwitz is also known for? At one point, they ceased to be the 'machine of orders,' remembered that they were human, refused to carry out inhumane commands, and rebelled. It’s a very interesting story; I recommend you read it.

Many police officers lost their lives in this war, and in general, being a police officer is a highly respected and important profession. I have worked in our country's most important buildings since I was 28 and am well aware of the crucial role the police have played in difficult phases for our state. I am confident that when this absurd theater troupe that calls itself power returns to the backstage, the police will once again take on their role as guardians of the law.

But until then, unknown red beret, you need to apologize to Gegham. Choose your form—indirect, restrained, publicly, even within your colleagues' circle—because there are decent people among them who felt bad in their families because of your command on Saturday.

I don’t want to burden your troubled mind with themes such as being a part of the system, carrying out orders, etc. There are entire philosophical and legal discourses on them, famous trials with international resonance. Though one day if we meet and you wish, I will tell you about them. But there is one condition—you must apologize to Gegham Nazaryan.

Don’t do it just because I say so. Sit with your friends, discuss it, talk. And in general, don’t be afraid to talk to each other. It will make living easier and facilitate our common cause.

Talk about why Professor Charentsyan is kept in prison at one person’s whim, despite having serious health issues. Surely Charentsyan has treated and saved someone dear to you. When you drink coffee with the guys, look at each other and ask that question. Talk about why the Turk is firing from just 60 km away from Yerevan and only 6 km from Sevan already. It’s time for all of us to start talking to each other.

Talk about why Armenia did not agree to ceasefire at least on October 19. Perhaps Armenia agreed, but that One did not, and afterwards we lost 100 new casualties daily, many wounded, and Shushi.

Let’s patiently talk to the person from Yerevan who voted for Nikol, and 20 days later, says that 'after the elections, the shooting has increased a lot and we are defenseless.' Talk about why all educated people in the country have been in the streets for eight months, while you are standing in front of them. Talking is very important; it will surely lead to something good. Hitting heads to the ground and chopping heads off is not a difficult thing to do; it exists and continues. Especially since if this continues, the Turk will finally bring the head of our state to the ground—from Amaras to Meghri and Tavush. But in the meantime, your apology is vital; perhaps that will be the beginning of our state’s salvation.
